With his first album, Everything Matters, Clément Bazin has a sweet dream: to rethink electro by incorporating an instrument of which he is now indissociable, steeldrum, and to imagine a bridge between his favorite genres, the calypso, the soca , hip-hop and post-dubstep UK 2000, a synthesis between Machel Montano, Jay Dilla, D’Angelo and James Blake.
Clement Bazin is 10 years old when he discovers the steeldrum, this steel drum from the island of Trinidad and Tobago, at a neighborhood party. It is love at first sight, he is enamored by this very particular sound which, from then on, will not stop to obsess him. After having released his first 2 EP “Inner Voices” and “Night Things” revealing his talents as a producer, he matures his desire to always: incorporate his heart instrument, steeldrum, his compositions to enroll in a certain form of modernity and imagine it differently.
